An Experienced Management Team

The Los Coyotes and Big Lagoon Tribes have partnered with an experienced management partner, BarWest Gaming, to help develop and initially manage this exciting resort and casinos project. The principals of BarWest own and operate a $400 million casino in Detroit along with theaters, professional sports teams, restaurants and food service companies and have successfully developed tribal gaming facilities. BarWest has the experience and the financial strength to build and operate a first class casino/resort in Barstow.

Working with the city of Barstow as a Partner
We have always approached this project as a joint development with the city of Barstow and the entire community. We worked together to choose the location that provides the maximum economic impact for the community. We have included the city in compact negotiations with the Governor’s office to make sure the city was comfortable with the agreements and that the city’s interests were served. More than 2,000 local residents signed petitions and postcards supporting this project.
The casino’s theme will be an oasis, which we believe is a perfect match with Barstow and the target customer base. As we continue to work through this process, we will continue to work with the city in the design, construction and operations of the casino/resort complex.
